If you use a inkjet that combines cyan-red - yellow inks to make black it
will.

If you have a printer that has a separate black cartridge it will last a
lot longer.

Two years plus.

You still have to protect it from water. Ink jet ink is water soluble. I 
have used 

a two part epoxy called  " Pour It On " that works.  I now use a labler
called 

Letra Tag. Tape is very expensive. If I had it to do over I would buy the
Brother
