Chris,
Are you going from making crosses to established plants in one Canadian
spring/summer/fall? If so, do you ever get bloom the first season?

No , not unless my green TB seeds germinated in the next few weeks and
I raised the seedlings in a greenhouse. Then they'd be a chance of
blooming the first year.
I followed the George Sutton method of freezing and refrigeration and I
had 90% germination rate. My seedlings are now six to eight inches
tall and should bloom next spring if they survive the winter. This
method , gives my seedlings 3 extra months to prepare for the dreaded 6
months of snow ahead of us. :-(
To bed now after the Expos vs Blue Jays at the Olympic stadium. Hope
this makes some sense :-)
Chris
