Re: Back on line!

Hello EVERYONE!  I'm so happy! Just turning cartwheels!  I thought I was 
doomed to   the blackout of my 17" monitor and asked my daughter to notify 
the world -- Talking to IBM (and they don't sell to ordinary people like me 
anymore) - they told me what to do (actually) and one thing was to put on a 
substitute monitor, and if it worked, then THAT was the problem - and I had 
no REAL problem (huh!)  So my friend, the computer guru had an extra , hooked 
it up - and voila!  I'm ecstatic!  This is only a 14' and I had a 17"  but I 
don't see any problem or difference??  I can read it fine.
  He's leaving for a month, so I'll have to decide during that time whether 
to replace the monitor or the whole she-bang!  Family and friends think I 
should get everything new!  Anyone with any ideas of what kind, etc and if??? 
 I have found out the prices have really come down!  My IBM Stealth cost 
nearly 5 thousand - now I can get something just as good for half that!  Now 
back to my taxes which I postponed in April because of National and all kinds 
of family complications!  So the axe is about to fall!    -  but at least I 
can have a respite now and then and read  about irises and people on my
