Neomarica gracilis
Yesterday, Neomarica gracilis bloomed again. The scent is really great.
Too bad the blossoms last for only part of the day.
Dietes vegeta
We've also gotten our first blossom from a Dietes vegeta since moving to
the State of Washington. We used to grow Dietes and Morea (African Iris;
Fortnight Lily) while living in the Los Angeles region of Southern
California. Here in Zone 8, these plants are just beyond their proper
USDA Zone. So, we're hoping to preserve enough of a favorable
micro-climate to get these fellars to survive and blossom. The
experiment seems to be successful, so far. We planted a new Dietes
vegeta last Fall, and the plant has now blossomed.
The blossom has three white falls reminiscent of the effect you get from
the 'Rabbitear Iris', but smaller of course. The flowers aren't really
shaped just the same, but they look somewhat simmilar. They're a crystal
white with yellow siganl on the lavender and brown hafts, IIRC.
PLUM PLUM
a small bearded iris...is blooming.
JI
PASTEL PRINCESS and a few others are presenting themselves.
