Re: HYB: Seed Developement

Not just Texas and Kentucky crying about no takes on their crosses
made this last spring. Although I'm just an amateur at hybridizing,
I was really surprised at only getting 12 takes out of 30 crosses here
in zone 5, near St. Louis, Mo. Had for the last 2 years gotten many,
many takes for my efforts. Not to wish bad luck on anyone but am
happy to know it was not me that was at fault. However, it is not
harvest time here just yet and really don't know what to expect
in seed count. Will be thankful for any I get.

    Warmest regards,
    Dean Gray
Zone 5 - at the mouth of the Meremac and Mississippi rivers in Mo.
