No doubt, this is the fastest way. But, with the information in a good
database, with indexes, an online source is certainly an option without the
costs of distribution, and with the ability to be updated between CDs. In
the not-too-distant future, I think that most users will have an acceptably
fast connection. Of course, once the data is in an acceptable format, it is
not too difficult to pick a point in time and copy the data to CD for
distribution for those with either a slow connection, or a preference to
work without connecting.
