Re: CULT Manure and Salts

So... if you're not still having giggles regarding our thread on manure,
and you're intriged enough to still be wondering about salt and
cow/steer/feedlot manure (and pig/chicken/rabbit/etc.) and how do these two
topics relate to each other, here are a couple of places to get more
information on both:

1. A good review of Salt and Trace Minerals in Animal Nutrition and
Agriculture... try
http://www.saltinstitute.org/25.html .

2. How salt concentrations in your type of soil can affect plant growth,
try. http://www.colostate.edu/Depts/SoilCrop/soillab.html .
It was interesting to note that your soil PH can make a difference as
to whether plants can tolerate the level of salt. So it could be as
different for each of us, very much like whether we differently experience
sandy soil, clay soil, rocky soil, etc.

And you all thought gardening was easy! a little water, a little sun, a
little soil, and success! Well, perhaps...<grin>
