Flo...The official announcement of awards and medals is published
annually in the October Bulletin of the AIS--which will arrive in our
mailboxes sometime around November 1 to 10th.
It's possible the award of the Medal (if given--it is not always
awarded!) might be made known through such semi-public fora (?forums)
as Iris-talk somewhat in advance of the publication of the Bulletin,
but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting.
