Oh well, count on me to make things even more confusing! <g>
Sorry about that - biological checklists are usually just a
list of names. For example, the <checklist of birds for Frozen Head
State Park>, or <checklist of vascular flora of middle Tennessee Cedar
Glades>. If a checklist has additional information, it's referred to as
an <annotated checklist>, & might include just about anything, without
necessarily having the same detail of annotation for each entry. If
it's more detailed, it might be called a <flora>, for plants, or maybe
an <atlas>. Checklists, florae (?), & atlases are intended to include
<all> of whatever is being covered, & usually has comparable information
for all entried.
So, it occurred to me that maybe the daylily <checklist> is only a list
of names.
Who reads the titles of these books anyway <g>? All I know is the 80s
has slightly more gold in the lettering so I can tell it from the 70s,
and the others I have all in paperback, which have different colored
jackets - I think of them as the R&I's, not as a checklist. Sorry about
that. Probably the bureaucracy of international names has approved
calling it a checklist.
Neil, you are welcome to visit again, but the irises have disappeared
again (along with their names) under hot & humid weed cover!
