Re: OT-BIO: Another new iris lover

Wecome Pat. Hooray, another online iris addict more or less in my
area/climate! Looking forward to comparing notes on successes and
failures. I am in a rural area south of Kingston, TN, between Knoxville
and Chattanooga, in the Ridge & Valley (east of the Cumberlands & west
of the Smokys/Cherokee Natnl Forest etc. Are you in the foothills or ?
What kind of soil?

Yes, the cultivars that really thrive in our part of the world are not
as abundant as those that won't. Maybe you will start hybridizing and
create some more that will. <g>

Bill Shear's iris book, available from the AIS online store, is probably
the best iris book you could start with.
