SPEC: foetidissima

My seed pod on Iris foetidissima variegata finally split open to
reveal a single mature seed which to my surprise is a pastel orange
color and not the bright "apple" red that I've always seen on other
foetidissima seeds. Will the orange change to red as it dries out
and ages?
