A question about LA Rhizomes

I cut up some of my rhizomes in to 1 inch peaces and planted them in 6
inch pots. Now I have new plants about 4 inches tall, when should I
plant them in my gardens ? Also I have about 30 1 inch rhizomes in
water(did not have time to plant them) that have new plantes starting
to pop up, should I plant them in pots now or put them in the garden ?
