If in the days before "happy hour" became just a nap,
I had happened upon these entertaining scolds
I'd never have understood the scurrilous thread.
It dimly spreads
some reminiscence of battles among girls
with too many night caps,
The thread as it swirls
holds not a candle to cat fights of old
when happy hour wasn't a nap,
and pretty girls got bold.
Smile now kitty, kitty, kitties
