Under most conditions, I would agree with you.  Unfortunately, the rules 
change when dealing with geriatric animals with decreased mobility, 
sight, and hearing.  This farm is filled with such animals, and I would 
never subject them to the potential harm of an electric fence.  One of my 
mom's geriatric dogs got caught under her electric fence and went into 
convulsions because she couldn't figure out how to get away from the 
shock.  Nope, no electric here.  Never.
