I think that "one soil does NOT fit all." Up until 3 years ago I gardened
in sandy, rocky soil. Some TBs did very well and some languished. HONKY
TONK BLUES in particular, languished. MYSTIQUE did well. Now I am gardening
in heavy clay and HONKY TONK BLUES has done very well, making me understand
the plaudits I heard previously. MYSTIQUE is nearly gone, however, a victim
of recurrent soft rot.
I think it's hard to make everyone happy and it MAY be less frustrating to
find the irises that do well in your particular microenvironment.
