Hey Mike!
Good to hear from you. Glad your dad's doing better. Probably put you guys
a bit behind; I was wondering when y'all might be sending that Circus Dancer
(and thanks again). I generally wait till the last of my orders come in to
order my markers for the year (and hope I can still read my temporary tags
when they arrive. That guy from Louisiana who advertises in the AIS
bulletin engraves them for less than $1.50 each (in quantity); plus about a
buck for the stake. Expensive, but nice. Another reason to be real
selective with my iris; they need to be worth more to me than the markers.
Sutton intros Abding Joy, Different Design, Eagle Control, Innocent Star,
and Bye Bye Blues performed very well for me this first year. Heartbreak
Hotel bloomed and was pretty, but Poem of Ecstasy ruled the color class.
The horns didn't make a significant difference (in my eye) to the overall
beauty of the flower.
I picked up Keppel's Crystal Gazer and Ghio's Revere this year, among
others. I can't wait to play with the beards on Crystal Gazer. If you ever
find yourself in the area, hope you can say "hi" (especially during bloom
season).
