Re: OT/Humor: Giddy iris ritual

Hi Arnold:
    Thanks for seconding my feelings of normalcy!! I haven't quite figured
out just what it is about Iris. . what comes over us when those orders start
arriving. . what endorphins are triggered? What ever they are, we could make
a fortune if we could bottle and sell them!!! You think??? The high one
experiences with a new order, the teasing one does, (just a peek . .open one
flap), the bribing one does (nope, can't open it until you finish folding
clothes, clean the bathrooms and kitchen floor), the actual "getting ready
to open THE box" routine. . the check list, etc., and then THE MOMENT! I'm
getting all a' tingle just thinking about it and my orders won't be here
until September!!
    Hmmmmm. . . .If we ID and bottle those endorphins, what would we call
them??? Something warm, meaningful, a cozy name, perhaps somewhat sensual; a
name to inspire!
    Gawd. . .all this and it's only 5:30 AM!!!

described was the way a normal person ought  to react to a newly-arrived
iris order.  Mine from Keith Keppel came today--Superstition's arrived a
couple weeks back--and both were fantastic in every way, and I did exactly
the same thing you did:  looked each rhizome over carefully, stopped myself
from drooling on them because............well, just because, and then went
into a sort of trance.   Wonderful how much pleasure a box of new "toys" can
bring!!   May you all have such joy!!!!    Now if I can just find the space
to plant all these things, because the extras are more than I expected, and
already I was pushing my space needs.  Maybe the fact that I'm losing quite
a few to scorch will turn out to be a backwards  blessing, since that will
make room for new things.
