About the non-native invasive plant mapping of the
forest:
I had to petition the instructors that I. versicolor
was native to New Hampshire. It is hardly invasive
since stands of it are fast disappearing. The trainers
had to redo two pages in the mappers' training manual
where ALL irises were mentioned as being non-native
and invasive. Only the I. pseudacorus was personally
seen by us that was a non-native iris in the Nat'l.
Forest.
It was very frustrating but hopefully, they got the
message.
