I have ordered and will continue to order from Riverview because I have
had good luck with all the rhizomes I received from them. I live in a
climate like theirs and I do not have to condition the plants before I
can plant them.
Nancy, did you check the contents of each box carefully? I had a note
and a refund check in the box because they did not have any increase on
one of the iris I ordered. I am used to paying far more for "shipping
and handling" from most catalogs of any type. I suspect this has to
cover the handling of the material being shipped and any packing
material used. Also insurance. Are you sure the plants that you did
not receive are not lost in shipping? It sounds like there were enough
of them to fill another of the priority boxes. I have had shipments
that were posted on the same day arrive several days apart. These were
not iris rhizomes but were a birthday gift and the last package arrived
well after the birthday!
I have had great service from all the suppliers mentioned on this list.
I hope that you will have good luck with your iris from Riverview. I
have always had bloom the year after planting when iris arrived before
August 15th. I try to plant them immediately after I receive my order.
I have lost up to 80% of iris planted after September first.
