Witch's Wand won't even grow for us. There are so many newer ones with that combination of colors that grow well, Romantic Evening, Wild Wings, Gallant Rogue, Visiting Royalty, Night Game, Tom Johnson etc. We are offering Witch's Want for the last time this year, just can't get it to increase enough.

Hi all,
Has anybody in zone 4 (or colder) ever successfully grown the TB Witch's Wand? I'm on my second try and it looks like it will die out once again. I was so smitten with the color combination of a "black" iris with a tangerine beard. Perhaps someone can recommend another variety that is similar....one that has a chance of surviving a zone 4 wacky winter of freezing and thawing? I'd even buy one named Chimpanzee Lips ;-)
