We get two major rot inducing weather factors - late hard spring freezes
and summer deluges in hot weather. Depending on the combination of the
hybridizer's inclinations and weather where the cultivar was selected,
plus the genetic makeup of the cultivars you picked out, plus your own
growing conditions, the cultivars will be more or less likely to rot.
So, depending on which 20 cultivars you selected....
Want to play a guessing game? Post the names of the 20 you ordered and
we can look up their pedigrees & have a contest to see who comes closest
to guessing how many of the cultivars you bought actually come down with
softrot. :-(
Ok, so the heat and humidity are getting to me - humidity in relatively
cool dry western NC was ~60% over the weekend.
