Well, a careful reading of my post reveals I didn't exactly say that ;-)  
I said, "Many Extension services now provide useful services to all 
farmers/gardeners, . . .
I was actually just trying to be diplomatic in light of my other 
criticism .....the onslaught I feared was from *defenders* of the 
Extension services. My own personal experiences with them have been less 
than productive, but I have come to expect nothing more from any 
government-associated bureaucracy.

This would be funny if it weren't so sad.....

Now this really is hysterical! I took one graduate level course in 
Dendrology 26 years ago, and *I* can identify a green ash! Too 
funny...(though I can see why you were not amused)
