Hello Randy,
May have been picked up later by young suffers... I do not know for I am
on the wrong side of the mountains to know about that culture. However, I
can remember even before them the name cowabunga came from the old Howdy
Doody TV show. One of the characters was always going on with "Well,
cowabunga, Buffalo Bob".
And then, of course, we were all glued to the screen to watch Princes
SpringSummerWinterFall.
