Kelly: Zurbrigg's MABEL ANDREWS is probably the least ruffled iris in my
garden (I prefer modern, ruffled stuff). The buds are a deep hot pink,
almost magenta color. The flowers vary depending on soil and weather from a
diamond dusted hot pink to a soft peach with an old rose overlay. This is
not the same as the sun fading which can create variations in the appearance
of some cultivars (NAVAJO JEWEL, for example, looks best if brought into the
shade before opening).
