Thanks Pat. Phooey. Southern Pine beetle wiped out all the pines close
enough to my garden to be convenient, and I've never seen pine straw for
sale in this area. Then again, my soil is so gravelly that a heavier
mulch would probably work better for me anyway.
<Linda, I don't use it as mulch, I dig it into the beds as compost.
When I
mulch the beds I use pine needles. I have two huge
Japanese Black Pines that
supply me with all the mulch I can use. Pat>
