Pill Bugs

          > Can anyone please tell me how to get rid of those

This was also a problem I had with those little
critters a couple of years ago. They dig under the rhizome,
eat into it, and provide an entrance for bacteria and other
insects. It took me awhile to locate the source of my
problem until I pulled up a rhizome and found several of
them as snug as a bug in a *rhizome*. Anyway, I sprinkled a
loving dose of Diazinon granules around each rhizome and in
a matter of days they all had gone to rolley-polley heaven.
I've used Diazinon granules several times since then
with the same results. Diazinon can be found at most
garden stores and used for a variety of other garden pests.
The application of dry crystals keeps the rhizome dry and
does not disturb the soil or force dirt/bacteria up into
the eaten out section rhizome as a spray might. That eaten
out section of the rhizome will then dry "callus-over" and
heal. It won't grow back, but it no longer be a source for
secondary infection. The use of the granules lets you use
less pesticide and to better direct it to the source of the
problem. WEAR RUBBER GLOVES when applying the granules as
Diazinon can be absorbed thru the skin!
               Hope this works for you!
