Hi there!
Just wanted to put my 2 cents in about moles. I'm up to my teeth in
them. They have destroyed every oriental poppy, all my delphiniums, all but
one of my columbines, all my glads are damaged, and misc. other plants. I've
been fighting them for 2+ years. I've used Juicy Fruit gum down the holes,
Mole pellets ( I don't like this idea because I have pets), moth balls, and this
year I tried spraying with this stuff called MOLE MED. It left my plants
with a greasy residue ( due to the castor oil base ).I've been told if their
source of food, grubs and earthworms , are removed they will go away. I
don't want to spray my whole yard , 1)it's just too big, and 2) I don't want
to kill the earthworms. I won't use the "Spike". I personally can't kill
them that way.
I also have lots of daffs and am planting more and more. The little
buggers haven't destroyed any irises yet, but I do have some that may be
damaged from them. When I dig up the rhizomes when the carpenter comes I'll
be able to tell.
So, anybody have any new ideas?
