Hi Sharyn,
I read of your plight and decided to respomd as I had a mole once. He made
me so mad that my normally gentle personality went down the tubes and I
bought a "spike". I used it once, on the one mole, and have had no trouble
since. However, I, too, had some reservations about the viloence involved,
so I removed the contraption after the trigger had been released, dug down
far enough to verify the presence of fur, promptly reburied the sweet little
varmint, said a prayer, and left him in peace. None of his family or
friends ever came back, and I have wondered if the gravesite might have
deterred them. Just a thought.

However, that was a couple of years ago, and since then I have seen some
"organic" catalogs with other remedies I would try before using the other
device again, including the Mole-Med. Do you spray that on the foliage? I
would think if it was sprayed on the ground, the sticky would be more
tolerable. But I don't have the directions, so I don't know.
What I did find was a windmill type device that creates a vibration that
they claim moles "find absoluitely intolerable" This device was about
$17.00 in a catalog called
Backyard Gardening, Box 8, Tiger, Georgia, 30576. So much for the solitude
of the garden, but if it repels moles without impaling them, so much the better.
Good luck,

Fall and where we had Spring two weeks early, too! For lack of any better
information, I guess we can blame it on El Nino.
