I think this is a great idea! Does anyone know whether Miracle Gro would
work as well as fish emulsion? That's all I have on hand at the moment.
Last year when we didn't have our bed done until the middle of October
(!!), I set a lot of irises on top of jars of water and dangled their
roots in the water. They grew their roots very nicely for a couple of
weeks until we could plant them. (this year I'm sure we'll have the beds
done long before that!) Love the wet sand idea too, John. We're planning
to get some sand this year.
