That does sound like a good idea to me and I will try it. It only sounds to
reason as I think of it, soaking the roots before planting would make it
easier to start growing in the ground.
I tried a new method this year after digging up the rhizomes for shipping.
I give the roots a 5 minute soak in a vitamin B-l solution to try and
prevent shock from the plant. I hope this will ensure the rhizome to arrive
at its destination not all dried up. Also, I dig the rhizomes one day and
ship the next.
