Two points in your post, Maureen:
1) I meant to say in a shadier spot rather than in "the shade, of
course".
I read somewhere (another one of Ellen's scientific references :)) that
the envasias like some shade...not full sun. That is why...and it did
well in the semi-shade this year.
2) I also have no problems with the foliage....that was why I wrote the
post in reply to Andy's post this morning about foliage not doing well
with interspecies crosses. The foliage looked a little peaked this
Spring but spruced up this summer. I think I would grow it not only for
its foliage but as a total package - the flowers are lovely...a
wonderful blue.
