	LADY FRIEND may have a little cold tenderness occasionally, but
when that is not a problem, it is an outstanding iris which should have
gotten a Dykes medal.  L F is getting a little age on her now, but she is
still a contender, and if she were eligible today, I would have voted for 
her over the current winner.

	Color catalogs have never done justice in capturing the nuances of
reddish tones of LF, and anybody trying to make up an order by looking at
the color pictures would probably write her off. 

	L F is still up there in the symposium.
