Iris names.

From: "william b. cook" <billc@atlantic.net>

I was interested in the posts about someone not liking an Iris because
of the name. This was discussed before on the Iris-L. If one does not
like the name, don't get the plant. I, for one try to avoid the "witch"
names, because I don't feel comfortable with them. However, that should
not keep someone from making a whole bed of them.
I can't criticize someone for growing them when I have a Daylily
called SPELL FIRE. I love the geographical and historical names.
Someone wrote about had BEVERLY SILLS been named Annie Lennox, Loretta
Lynn, or Barbra Streisand, would have it won the dykes. This is an
interesting subject. Now, if only someone would name a plant after Crystal
Gayle...
