re:CULT:TB:bloomout

I have to agree with Patrick's observations. A lack of roots seems
to be a common symptom. My own strategy has been to dig these rhizomes at
divide-time and then replant them somewhere else. I have a 'nursery bed'
which is the native soil mixed with lots of potting soil and sand. The bed
gets partial shade and I run a set of drippers through it so the soil is
always moist but not soggy. I have had excellent luck in getting toes,
mothers and bloomouts to grow in this bed, and then move them out into the
garden. It is also used for growing on seedlings of various plants prior to
getting them in the garden.
