Laureen, I'd like to put in a plug for joining all those groups despite the
mileage! In IL, I drive 120 mi each way to one local, 100 mi each way for
another, 80 mi each way for the one I'm president of (and that one has night
meetings; the other two have Sat or Sun potlucks), and 70 miles each way to
the Greater St. Louis meetings. It's worth it for all the friendships,
knowledge, fun, plants--well worth it! After all, where else are you
going to
find people who WANT to talk all day about irises? Nancy in IL zone 5 (who
recently paid $36.00+ for a tank of gas. Ugh!!)
