Re: intro and mulching Iris


Hello.  We get by with pine needles as mulch because they don't hold
water; it
goes right through them.  Nancy in IL zone 5.  A friend uses shredded
oak leaves
between the rows to control weeds.  (Our July and August is usually hot and
dry.)  Just don't bury the rhizome itself; to do so is asking for big trouble.
