Re: OT:CHAT: Irisarians and music


Anner and Walta -- An odd coincidence that the two of you are discussing the
Virginia state song.  Since my own roots go deep in Virginia (Jamestown,
1610),  I found myself, a year or so ago, attempting to peck out on the
piano the kind of tune and lyrics that Anner is talking about.  But I gave
up.  Like Irving Berlin, I can't read a note, but unlike Berlin, I don't
have a collaborator who does.  I think I have a better chance of producing a
winning iris.
