I started using the Brother tapes cause I have lousy handwriting, but I've
heard good things about the paint pens (alas, they don't improve
handwriting). I also like the labels from EON (and use them) I just don't
like the legs because of the rust.

I found the best labels are from Eon Industries. They are metal markers .
I
use the swing type 10". On the back side I write in Lead Pencil it always
stays on even after 5 years. On the front I use a paint pen that I get at
an
art supply store. That stays quite well. A permanet SHARPIE marker fades
after a few months of sun.
The shorter 10 inch length makes them unobtrusive.
