Re: CULT? moving the iris

Hi, All!
We are in the process of moving and tomorrow will be
one of the big days. I will start digging iris and
preparing them for transport to the lovely beds that
await them at their (and my) new home. My question is
this: I had a shot hole (hole shot?) problem this last
winter and have not had the time to deal with it.
Until now, that is. Can anyone recommend to me a
treatment for my iris after I have dug them up and
clipped them appropriately? I am thinking a mild
bleach solution (which I have done with some success
in the past) or a nice copper dip. I would hate to
take my disease problem with me.
I also understand that there is some discussion
about treating iris that have had their fans clipped
with a bleach and water solution before replanting. I
have never had a problem in the past but wonder if
that was because the bleach was not strong. Could
anyone advise as to ratios of bleach and water?
Thanks for your time. It is wonderful to be moving
to a place where the yard is such a big, blank slate!
I look forward to any help that anyone can provide.

soon to be Oroville, CA zone 7 or 8?
