Re: COMP: Subject Tags ;-)

It seems the tag conversation thread was a mere half day wonder...only to
disappear as quickly as it came about. I sure would like to see the entire
burdon of this forum lifted from John Jones. He has been quiet on this tag
thing since his initial post (at least from what I have seen).

We read some great testimonials regarding how these tags have affected many
different people and the majority appeared to be in a negative way. Do we
change to survive or do we survive because we change? Since this really is
all about flowers and even being ambassdors for the iris, shouldn't we
remove obsticals that hinder the enjoyment and participation of this flower
forum? (I am referring to the tags in this last question).

Perhaps a group of three of four list members should form list a management
committee and relieve John of the sole responsibility of decision making in
this forum. It must be stressful on John at times. (I am not suggesting
ousting John, merely adding some people to his stature as list
co-moderators). I would also suggest that these people not have any
aspirations of leadership within AIS such as Directorship. There are some
wonderfully techno-savy gardeners in this crowd who have an uncanny genuine
affection for the iris and other people that grow them. These would be
great co-moderators for this group and they could make the tough decisions
as a group and not make any one person bare the burden of decision making.
Often times the single decision maker can not come out looking good no
matter what side he takes on a somewhat controversial or even
non-controversial subject.

I also would like to see the tags become encouraged and not mandatory.
Perhaps I am a simple person...but I am happy.
