I'm surprised, Ellen. In reading the list messages, I figured my garden
was the latest of all, but even I am ahead of you. MDBs are just about
done, SDBs are past peak, IBs are about peak (even though I only have a
few that are blooming this year), and I have about 10 TBs open. My first
beardless will be a setosa I've been growing for a few years but have
never yet seen bloom. Apparently it greatly appreciated its move into a
new and much improved beardless bed two years ago. It should be open
within the next few days, and I can hardly wait to see it. It also looks
like I'll be getting bloom out of at least a few of the Sibs I planted
year before last, and the first will be SHAKER'S PRAYER. Of course, with
all the losses in my main TB beds this year, bloom won't be nearly as
spectacular as anticipated, but that just makes every flower that does
manage to open all the more precious. I sure have developed an even
greater appreciation for the extremely tough littleuns.
Enjoy your bloom!
Laurie
