I don't have a lot of experience with the iris seedlings, but less than 10%
of the seedlings I have bloom the first year.

Iris and daylilies share a similar trait that I have observed and confirmed
with others at my latitude. The branching and budcount do not manifest
themselve for at least 2 years. I'm tryin' to remember now to observe whether
one that doesn't bloom the first year, shows consistant branching and bud
count between two and three year comparisoms.

Guess I'll be needin' to borrow one of your notebooks and maybe a pen too.
Them sharpies write through to the second page and I'm figgerin' I'll be
needin' morin' two pages now.
