TB HIST: LOUVOIS

I bought a bunch of rhizomes from Home Depot a few years ago which were
imported from a Dutch source with the classic windmill on the label.
One of them was labeled as LOUVOIS, Cayeux 1936 but I found out a few
weeks later that the photo on the package was no where near close to the
photo on the HIPS site. Naturally , I felt quite stupid.....until my
clump finally opened Saturday morning.

It's a striking resemblence to the photo on the HIPS site if not much
better in real life. I can recall not being thrilled with the colors of
the real LOUVOIS in photos but it's a real knock out in real life with
its deeply saturated brownish falls and buff tan standards. It looks
good enough to eat ;-)

I guess I just got lucky with this one. I'll post my photos of it to
iris photos win a few weeks time when I get back from vacation.
