As far as the virus, if that's what it is, in MING DYNASTY is concerned, I think it's more spectacular with the flecks than without.  I have seen it both ways, but I would never destroy the plant.  It never carries over to other iris anyway, and I like it.  A beautiful, rich gold self otherwise.

Arnold, I don't know if the markings on MING DYNASTY and RIVER HAWK are
caused by mosaic virus or not.  I am trying to get an authority on the
list to identify it as such or something else.  Whatever these markings
are, they do not seem to hurt the plant or spread to other irises.  Too
many arilbreds to name also have these markings.  Are we to consider
these arilbreds as infected, too??
