Doreen, generally the same experience here; I felt it was unfair to compare
the potted Clarence with the Suky in the ground. Suky has definitely proven
itself to be a good grower here in my garden for several years now. Has held
up well to overcrowding too.

Walter, do they bloom about the same time? About the same garden presence as
to clump and color? The other ones I've already decided to keep are City
Lights and Stellar Lights because they are a little different colors. Never
seen Clarence in bloom here. Suky has huge strong wide upright leaves and a
very agressive habit. But stays strong rather than choking itself out, bloom
stalks don't seem to flop either, hm....maybe toss Victoria Falls? Possibly
it could be too weedy for some formal settings? I'll never have that worry
tho!
Arnold and others, thank you all for the input. Someday this winter when it
gets slow, let's do some regional comparisons by color, vigor or rebloom or
whatever! I really appreciate the posts regarding specific situations and
plants, esp. at time to divide and thin out, cull etc.
