This year's bearded sprouts were lined out on May 14 and May
16. Most are growing rapidly and are six to eight inches tall now.
They need to be watered heavily. Extreme heat doesn't seem to
affect their growth as long as they are damp.
Walter, mine start to rot when I keep them damp. How do you prevent that?

Rotting of seedlings has never been much of a problem here. I have
lost only two out of about seven hundred and fifty this year. It is
weaklings that rot. My biggest problem with rotting of seedlings
is shortly after germination. Damping off was really bad until I
started using terraclor. If rotting is a problem with your young
seedlings, I highly recommend trying terraclor.
