Thanks for the reply, Walter. Mine rot after they are about six inches high. I think I was keeping the ground too wet. When I dig the dead ones, I find they had long roots which were quite moist a couple of inches down. I am putting them on a once a week watering schedule the same as the adults.

Rotting of seedlings has never been much of a problem here. I have
lost only two out of about seven hundred and fifty this year. It is
weaklings that rot. My biggest problem with rotting of seedlings
is shortly after germination. Damping off was really bad until I
started using terraclor. If rotting is a problem with your young
seedlings, I highly recommend trying terraclor.
