Thank you John. I agree that Iris-Talk is a wonderful place to make new
friends. My concern was that some might take issue with the contents since
it was not an Iris related topic. As you stated, iris people are indeed
"quality" and not a word of reprimand was sent for my posting.
I hope some year to attend an AIS convention - if one takes place within
a reasonable distance (5-6 hours drive) from El Paso! I would love to meet
many of my friends from Iris-talk and shake their hand or better yet, give
them a hug
My arilbreds are in their deep summer depression. . .Awful looking
things this time of the year! The TB's are still looking somewhat
presentable. Their rich green is being replaced by a rather washed out
greenish yellow color. Although all my iris were planted last September, the
increases are abundant! Next project is to prepare some new beds to
accommodate all the new rhizomes that will be received in September! After
that, I need to separate all the RB's and move them to their own bed so I
can better care for them.
Gardening in El Paso is . . . different! Coming from lush Arkansas, this
has been/is being a challenge for me and I wish I had stock in the peat moss
industry! My husband rolls his eyes and sez, "what in the *&% are you doing
with all those bales of that *&%$ stuff???" I keep telling him I have to do
something to get this desert sand to hold water!
Just wanted ya'll to know I'm still doing iris!!
