odd that you mention pine straw mulch in connection with leaf spot. I just
very recently read something in the archives (I think that was where) that
was the result of a study some kind. I believe that the conclusion they
drew was that most mulches (except plastic) actually increace the occurance
of leaf spot. I don't remember if they offered any theory as to why...
anyway,
if I remember where I saw it I'll post it...
