Hi, I am a novice iris grower but have read alot about them and can find no
good answer as to why they are so unreliable in bloom. Is this just the
nature of the plant or should I be looking for ones that are known to be
more reliable. We had a grower here who intened to grow iris and abandoned
them in favour of lillies for this problem.
This year was exceptionally bad for iris here in Nova Scotia, I have whole
patches with good foliage but no flowers. It was a very wet spring and
winter came on suddenly last fall, could those be factors?
Any tips how how to ensure adequate growth to get a flower every year? Such
a disappointment to wait all year for no flowers!
Louise
